Purpose

The environmental purpose is to limit or end non-point source water pollution.

Landowner Benefits

Landowners benefit with up to 70% of eligible costs associated with installing best management practices (BMPs) to be covered. Technical assistance with installation and implementation is provided with BMPs.

Description

Each County Conservation Department or town governments may apply for grants for specific best management projects and have a 2 year implementation time frame.

Practices

Barnyard runoff control, detention ponds, manure storage, streambank protection projects, and wetland construction

Costs to Landowner

Landowner covers at minimum 30% of the cost to install best management practices

Eligibility

The project must be a high priority at the county or town level.
