The landowners receives an on-site risk assessment of their farm operation and activities. Technical assistance is provided to implement practices that reduce groundwater risks. Financial assistance is provided for implementation of specific stewardship practices. Education and awareness of the risks associated with groundwater contamination and cost-effective solutions. |

Description |
The Michigan Groundwater Stewardship program provides technical assistance in the form of a Farm-A-Syst, Crop-A-Syst and Home-A-Syst assessment. This program promotes the practice of water testing of drinking water. The risk of groundwater contamination from nitrate fertilizer or pesticides is reduced through the usage of this program. |
