Purpose

The environmental purpose is to provide education and one-on-one technical assistance to private landowners and communities regarding local forest health issues.

Landowner Benefits

The landowner receives free technical advice and education with the health and quality of their forestland.

Description

The Forestry Assistance Program is designed to assist Michigan forest landowners better understand, plan, manage, protect, and utilize their forest resources. Forest health issues include but are not limited to Emerald Ash Borer, Oak Wilt, and Beech Bark Disease.

Assistance with forest health, plan writing, site visits, harvest recommendations, wildlife habitat enhancement

None

Eligibility

All forestland owners where funding is available.

Funding is not available in all counties including Arenac and Tuscola.
